The 2008 OHIO YEARLY MEETING GATHERING OF CONSERVATIVE FRIENDS will be held in Barnesville, Ohio, USA from 20 June 2008 through 22 June. The Gathering is sponsored by Ohio Yearly Meeting, and has recently been held alternately in Barnesville and at other locations where Conservative Friends have been able to gather.
The Gathering is not a business session, and its intent is not to transact anything other than communing together an meeting face-to-face. We don't plan committee meetings, or do a great deal of specific planning of events, workshops, seminars, footraces, or the like. The point is simply to be together in the presence of the Lord. We sit on the porches, worship together in the old meetinghouse, take walks on the property and in general re-connect with each other in ways that our far-flung community often finds difficult or expensive to accomplish.
The Gathering itself will be held on the grounds of Ohio Yearly Meeting's Stillwater Meeting House, where Stillwater Monthly Meeting has held uninterrupted worship sessions weekly since 1803, and also where the Yearly Meeting has been held since 1878. The Yearly Meeting owns two other buildings on the property: the Friends Center, and an Activities Building with bathrooms, showers, and facilities for child care.

TRAVELING DIRECTIONS:
The Stillwater Meeting House is located in Barnesville, Ohio, about 100
miles east of Columbus, and 75 miles west of Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania. Both cities have major airports.
- From I-70, take Exit 202 (Route 800) about six miles south to Barnesville.
- Turn left (east) on Route 147 at the stoplight in the center of town.
- Drive about 1.5 miles to the outskirts of town until
you reach Roosevelt Road, where there is a large wooden sign on the
right that reads "Stillwater Meeting of Friends, Home of Ohio Yearly Meeting
(Cons.)."
- Turn right on Roosevelt Road, and drive up the hill 1/2 mile to the stop sign.
- The Meeting House is the very large brick building on the hilltop across the road directly in front of you. Drive in, park
anywhere, and enter from the porch.

Plan to arrive at any time after 12:00 PM on Friday, 20 June. Registration will be on the Stillwater Meeting House porch. Scheduled mealtimes below are for those choosing to eat meals at the Olney Friends School. (The dining room is on the bottom floor of the main building). There are also nearby sit-down and fast-food restaurants within walking distance on State Route 147.
