About Me
I was a Quaker for 4 decades. Originally joined what was then an Orthodox meeting. Most of the time in liberal meetings. Served on FUM Board in early '90s. Founded QuakerInfo.com. Was part of an effort that we thought might wind up being a new meeting/church which sort of combined Quakerism and what now would be known as emerging church ideas. Didn't quite wind up that way. However, the ministry (Friends in Christ) still exists and has two Bible study groups in the Washington-Baltimore corridor. These draw mainly from Friends. Was an affiliate member of Rockingham Meeting of Ohio YM for several years. Was removed when I left the liberal meeting I was in and joined Cedar Ridge Community Church, a place where I have found solid Christian community in a spirit which has a lot in common with the best in Quakerism. Still interested in fostering Christian renewal among Friends, as well as making connections between Friends and the Emerging Church. You sound like you have had many interesting experiences with Christians and people in general over the years. Maybe you have some insight into living a conservative Christian life amongst so much seeming confusion in today's religious community?
