Conservative Friend

Hello Everyone, 

My email box was too full to be able to appreciate the conversations that were taking place among you.  I want to thank Kevin for setting this forum up. 

I am Friend Teri.  We live in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  I am a Christian Quaker.  My first understanding of Christianity came from the Presbyterians; my family background is Scottish and Scot-Irish though I was born in California from American parents that moved west from the panhandle region and the deep south.  My older brother became a Friend and then I began attending a Friends Church (Rose Drive) while I was a teen.  Later I lived in Barnesville, Ohio and attended the Stillwater Monthly Meeting, a Conservative Friends Meeting.  Several years have passed since we moved to Minnesota for employment.

As a young adult, I left the country for Bible training in Canada before living in Iran and Afghanistan and then Europe.  I worked with a Christian mission.  When I returned to the USA I went back to university and eventually became a social worker / MSW.  I worked for several years with the poor and mentally ill.  Today I am raising my granddaughter and working as a manager of two apartment buildings.  This gives me the wonderful opportunity to write.  It is a goal of mine to have a novelistic memoir completed and ready to publish one way or another... most likely self-publishing.  I am writing it mainly for my grandchild.

Here in Minnesota there are no Christ-Centered Meetings.  I depend on the internet and the postings of others to feel connected to Christian Quakers / Friends.  If anyone is planning a journey to the frozen north, let me know and I may be able to meet up with you for fellowship.
