Hi folks-  My name is Kevin, and I have a family who live in eastern Ohio, USA, and attends Stillwater Monthly Meeting of Ohio Yearly Meeting. OYM is one of three surviving Conservative (formerly Wilburite) yearly meetings.

 

I live in a truck, and come home every few weeks to fix things that break and turn my wife loose so that she doesn't slaughter the children while I'm gone, although I cheerfully admit to being tempted to slaughter them myself on a regular basis.

 

I have a computer in the truck (which I didn't have for a year, and which made things slow) so I'm available here more or less anytime.

Hmmm. bud, your comment has appeared in a portion of the website that I have no experience with, so I don't know how to access it except through your link. Anyway, don't worry. The testimonies are not the point of the exercise, merely the updating of the Queries so that they do their job. For example, we have no query regarding abortion, and the Queries need to address helpful behaviors. I personally know of pregnant congregation members in difficulties who have been advised to seek abortions by members of OYM's Meeting for Ministry and Oversight. If this is our official stance, I think it needs to be spelled out.

The old Queries don't discuss this sort of thing.

Kevin - thank thee for the note on my blog. I just clicked to have it posted. I drafted my original post after a few Friends were sitting around and discussing what changes were needed - I hope thee didn't feel it was a critique of thee because that's not what was intended.
