Hi everyone. Good to see this here. The question ask for formal affiliation. If this were Facebook I'd check off the "it's complicated" box though it's probably a less complicated that I make out. I'm officially a member of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting though not really involved with it or my formal monthly meeting. Theologically and in practice I long ago crossed the line over into Conservative Friends and I spend more time at Ohio events than Philadelphia ones. I keep wanting to arrange my life to regularly visit Keystone Fellowship, the nearest Ohio YM meeting, about two hours away. It would probably be more honest of me to be more regularly involved and see if way would open to membership.

I blog over at Quakerranter.org and I started QuakerQuaker.org, which I see as a "gateway drug" for Friends on the way to Ohio YM. I've been one of the people behind the "Convergent Friends" talk. What it means is a shifting target, but I mean it as a kind of charitable Conservative with a bit of evangelizing hotsauce. I constantly wonder whetheer I shouldn't drop the term for "Conservative" and be done with it.

I could give my life story but that's about where I am now. I live in South Jersey, have two cute boys and a wife that left Friends for Catholicism about five years ago (honestly can't say I blame her).

Thanks to Kevin for putting this together!

Martin, I for one would like to hear your life story. I spend a lot of time on QuakerQuaker, which continues to astonish me for how much work it must take, and I don't care whether you have help or not.

The Convergent discussion is an interesting one. I keep watching the egg, waiting to see what hatches.

Welcome Martin,

I hope that you have many good experiences on the CF blog.  I tend to think out loud and therefore I'm thankful for both The CF blog and Quaker Quaker for putting up with my voiced wonderings. This helps

me to see where I am in the things of the spirit when others view it or might want to offer their insight about the insights I have and vice versa.  My spiritual journey seems to be a continually updated process producing its products for distribution to an ever changing market.  For it does seem that both myself and the other Friends whose paths meet are continually downloading new application packages which are being made available to us from the Inner Light of Christ.

Friend, Tim
