The New Foundation Fellowship will sponsor an international gathering at the Sinks Canyon Center, near Lander Wyoming, USA on 12-16 July, 2010. The only charge is a non-refundable registration fee of $50.00. Contact Rebecca Hein, registrar, at /rhein@vcn.com/. The New Foundation Fellowship is an organization founded by Lewis Benson in the 1970s. Lewis Benson was active for many years in publicizing his re-discovery of the Christian basis for the revelations of George Fox, the primary founder of the Religious Society of Friends. During the first half of the 20th century, this simple fact had been forgotten among most non-programmed traditions of the Society, who had revised the history of Fox to just one of a long series of universalist mystics, ignoring the Christian basis and substance of his teaching. The NFF is an organization that has dedicated itself to spreading this message through the world by re-publishing the works of early Friends and sponsoring gatherings such as this one. They're not real internet-savvy and don't print their website in their mailings, but I think they have one. Look them up. Lander is way up in the Wyoming prairies, where the Antiocapra roam. I drove through it on black ice this last January for 150 miles. | |

Hi Folks,
I would be interested in more info about New Foundation Gatherings. Do you post them regularly?
Before transferring to Kennett Meeting, I was a member of Manasquan Meeting (NYYM), where Lewis Benson was a well respected member.
In my transfer to Kennett Meeting ( PYM) I found that unprogrammed meetings do not necessarily reject the Christinan basis for Friends beliefs expemplified by Fox and folks like Lewis as much as they respected different ways to the Truth. Some here and there may fall short of this ideal but many folks are faithful in an effort to it.
I was not sure, as a Christian friend, whether I would be comfortable at Kennett, but have found myself growing as a Friend- by the struggle to stay open minded while still feeling a comfort with what speaks to my heart. For me today thankfully, it is not an either/or that guides my way.
Thanks Friends!
